A Gathering of Moments

The Echo of What Remains Collected Poems of Wanda Lea Brayton

Lithely, she leans across the horizon,
offering her songs to the western wind's waves,
winding her way through a gathering of moments,
reaching for this radiance that captivates her,
caused solely by the chaos of his presence.

Delicately, she descends from clouded heights,
her wings slowly becoming hands
overflowing with fragrant whispers of wildflower fields -
she touches his cheek as she leans against his strength.

He caresses her meadowy throat
as he lowers his mouth for the very first time -
life and laughter woven together,
just so.
