Pulses echo on an unforgiving wind -
slow memories drift across this dream
of distance as they weep
wisps of smoke, wafting from inner flames
which once forged beauty into fiery flesh and ashen song,
a torrent of tattooed tenderness unleashed without mercy.
When I close my eyes,
I can still feel your mouth tracing my landscape
with its soulful song of nourishment and need.
There are no shadows hiding this harvested horizon -
only emanating light.
